The Judean wilderness was an extremely dangerous, hot and arid desolate wasteland.  Imagine, if you can, wandering in such a place, without sustenance, for forty days and forty nights.  It would be, at the very least, life threatening.   The limits of the mind, the will and emotions would be stretched to breaking in most men.  Could the spirit of any man withstand this fire of testing and the temptation to succumb?

It was in this place and under these circumstances, after 40 days and nights, that Satan came to Jesus  and tempted Him at every point of His humanity

This is the way of Baptism, modeled by Jesus.

Jesus always leads by example and He has shown us the way.  Baptism by the Holy Spirit and by Fire.

And, now, what about the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in your life?  Can you honestly say "I have been tested and I am able to do and in fact, am doing all He has commanded?"

Soon after Jesus' baptism and testing, Jesus went up to a Mountain and taught His disciples about what is to come upon all who follow Him.  This is for ALL followers and disciples of Jesus.
